The house is a traditional style "Breton" house which has retained many of its original features. It is located in the Morbihan area of South Brittany about 20 minutes from the coast and yet on the edge of the unspoilt Lanvaux Valley.

'La Maison Josse' was built in 1865 as the village school and was extended twice, as can be seen from the photo above.  We have owned the property since 1991 and it has been considerably refurbished since, to offer a high standard of accommodation (please read the comments page).

The property is very well equipped and visitors will find it like a 'home from home' as so many have testified.  The weather in South Brittany is usually 2 or 3 degrees Celsius warmer than North Brittany and has what is known as a 'microclimate' which stretches from the Golfe du Morbihan to the inland southern areas of Brittany.

So what makes people want to keep returning?  We feel it is the beautiful unspoilt countryside, friendly Breton people, good weather, great food, beaches, golf, charming Breton villages.  If the weather should let you down there are numerous places of interest to visit, many brochures are available at the house.
